  • KU Advance: Our non-credit workforce development program offers accessible training opportunities, including six months of free non-credit training for displaced federal employees through Coursera’s Career Academy. This initiative provides over 4000 courses and more than 40 non-credit certificates in fields such as Data Analysis, Social Media Management, and more.
       
  • Career Development Center: We host over 60 career development workshops, information sessions, and special events each semester, including internship and job fairs, employer panels, and mock interviews, to ensure our students are career-ready upon graduation.
Alignment with PASSHE Initiatives

As a proud member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), Kutztown University actively participates in system-wide efforts to address workforce shortages and prepare students for in-demand careers.

  • Workforce-Aligned Credentials: PASSHE universities, including KU, are developing programs to upskill and reskill Pennsylvanians for positions that advance economic mobility and contribute to the state’s vitality. These include licenses, certificates, certifications, and badges aligned with industry needs.
       
  • #Prepared4PA Initiative: This initiative focuses on aligning academic programs with workforce demands, ensuring students acquire the latest skills for emerging job trends.

Governor Josh Shapiro has placed workforce development at the forefront of his administration’s priorities, recognizing its critical role in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.

  • Investment in Workforce Programs: The Shapiro Administration has secured significant investments in vocational-technical education, career and technical education (CTE), and apprenticeships, enrolling nearly 10,000 new apprentices since taking office.
