At Kutztown University, learning doesn’t end with a degree. Through KU ADVANCE, we offer a diverse and ever-evolving catalog of personal enrichment courses and workshops designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and connection. Whether you’re looking to explore a new hobby, develop a craft, or simply engage with your community, our enrichment programs make learning personal—and fun. 

A Community of Learners
  • KU ADVANCE enrichment programs are open to everyone—residents of Berks, Lehigh, and surrounding counties, retirees, busy professionals, and lifelong learners of all ages. Courses are designed with flexibility in mind and are offered in convenient formats: 
  • Evening and weekend options 
  • On-campus and off-site locations 
  • One-time workshops or multi-session series 
Courses We've Offered

Our community has explored a wide variety of topics over the years, including: 

  • Beekeeping 101: An introduction to backyard hives, sustainability, and honey harvesting 
  • Wine Tasting and Appreciation: Discover the art and science behind wine with guided tastings and pairings 
  • Quilting & Textile Arts: Learn classic quilting techniques or try your hand at contemporary fiber art 
  • Jewelry Making: Design and craft your own wearable art with guidance from local artisans 
  • Creative Writing: Explore poetry, memoir, or fiction in a supportive writing workshop 
  • Mindfulness and Wellness: Engage in courses focused on meditation, self-care, and personal growth 

New offerings are added regularly based on community interest, instructor availability, and seasonal themes.

We believe lifelong learning should be within reach. KU ADVANCE keeps enrichment course fees affordable, with discounts available for seniors, KU alumni, and community partners. No entrance exams. No prerequisites. Just bring your curiosity.
